I have always tried to help my destination couples see the many joys of small weddings, underscoring the idea private elopements and weddings with a limited number of guests can still be unique, wonderful, and highly personalized events of the heart.  And this was certainly the case with my recent Texas grooms Ian and Tres.

The globe-trotting pair knew that they would have a relatively small wedding, with a dozen or so guests.   However, many of their loved ones were traveling great distances to attend.   So they wanted a small, but spectacular wedding, that would allow for a private ceremony and intimate dinner reception.  As they are friends with the world renowned  luxury travel advisor and writer Carlos Melia, Tres and Ian had the advantages of some excellent tips from an insider—and the evening was simply magical.

The wedding took place at Ink48, a Kimpton hotel on 48th Street and 11th Avenue.  This boutique hotel is a former printing press, offering terrific guest services, a colorful welcoming environment, and New York City views that are truly spectacular.

The grooms chose to host their celebration in a standout suite at the hotel.  Their spacious living area led to an unbelievable terrace that hosted the wedding ceremony, cocktails and a full sit down dinner.    Sean Kim, of Sean Gallery, took lovely photos of the super chic gusts and Labor Day views of the City.
