Anne Watkins is an artist who works from life, using a watercolor kit instead of a camera. Anne paints her subjects quickly and precisely, recording them without fuss or formal poses, capturing moments of their daily lives, whether the days are momentous or typical.

Anne’s elegantly modern portraits of wedding parties, children, animals, musicians, and homes are both privately collected and published. A regular contributor to The New York Times, the Bark, and Harpers, her paintings of weddings have been featured in Town and Country, In Style, Victoria and Departures magazines. She is one of the wedding specialists profiled inModern Bride and Martha Stewart Weddings magazines and The New American Wedding, by Diane Delaney Meier.

Her work is so abstract you can never tell if a couple is beautiful,
but you can tell they feel beautiful.” —
